Too stressed to read this blog

The guy who wrote this reminds me of when I was 26 year old BUT in a whole different way. Stress is a modern day reality which seems to be worse now than it was in the years gone by, although there are exceptions during conflicts and natural disasters. Looking back to when I was 26 years old, stress wasn't really an issue because I was too busy getting on with my life. For me it was joining the mundane reality of getting onto the housing market, but most of the time enjoying myself was more important.

Beat Stress: 6 Reasons You are Stressed Out of Your Mind

Shandi-lee X {pieces I}

I’m a self-employed 26 year old who has a tendency to get stressed, anxious and panicked – even during the the smallest of life’s hiccups. Beneath my steely exterior and chiseled, move-star jawline is a scared little boy.

Why you are stressed out of your mind

1. You aren’t organized
2. You’re lazy with records and taxes
3. You don’t exercise and so are overweight, under socialized and tight
4. You don’t read, meditate or train your mind-vice
5. You eat foods that make you stressed
6. You get your information and entertainment online and too often
highly recommend that everyone reads

Why are you stressed?

WP 3.2 likes and dislikes

If you can't bear not to have the *add new post button* then go into your profile. You have the option to "Show admin bar" when viewing site or in dashboard. Not exactly like WP 3.1 but close enough; -)

How Are You Liking WordPress 3.2?

The one thing I miss in the new WordPress is the New Post button at the top right of admin screen. It was there in version 3.1 but disappeared in 3.2. Please bring back the new post button and add it back to the admin bar as well! Another than this little gripe, I’m really enjoying WordPress 3.2. However, like previous WordPress releases, I expect version 3.2.1 any day now.

One size fits all social media BS

This article takes a look at all the one liners and absolute BS that so called social media experts come up with every day on the web. The sad fact is that its not confined to social media.... Hoooray

I know, that’s not much of a news flash for many of us. We’ve been watching as this tremendous growth of social media has created a mass-market of companies selling huge lines of BS to brands who honestly don’t know the right questions to ask. They are like really smooth men with pick up lines that are so brilliant you don’t even see them coming. They know if a company is looking for help with social media, it is likely because they don’t understand it themselves. Therefore, if they talk in buzz words and “fake it ‘till they make it” the company will never realize they are clueless.

Who has time to blog anymore?

It's been said many times that blogging is on a downward spiral, Twitter and Facebook along with countless micro blog formats seem to be the flavour at the moment.

I find I have less time to write now since i work full time, its so much easier posting throiugh Twitter and facebook.

Blogs Wane as the Young Drift to Sites Like Twitter

Blogs were once the outlet of choice for people who wanted to express themselves online. But with the rise of sites like Facebook and Twitter, they are losing their allure for many people — particularly the younger generation.

The Internet and American Life Project at the Pew Research Center found that from 2006 to 2009, blogging among children ages 12 to 17 fell by half; now 14 percent of children those ages who use the Internet have blogs. Among 18-to-33-year-olds, the project said in a report last year, blogging dropped two percentage points in 2010 from two years earlier.

Wouldn’t it been better to be part of Europe

Just a thought, if Britain was still locked with the mainland it could be so different don't you think?

The moment Britain became an island

Tsunami

Ancient Britain was a peninsula until a tsunami flooded its land-links to Europe some 8,000 years ago. Did that wave help shape the national character?

The coastline and landscape of what would become modern Britain began to emerge at the end of the last Ice Age around 10,000 years ago.

What had been a cold, dry tundra on the north-western edge of Europe grew warmer and wetter as the ice caps melted. The Irish Sea, North Sea and the Channel were all dry land, albeit land slowly being submerged as sea levels rose.

But it wasn't until 6,100BC that Britain broke free of mainland Europe for good, during the Mesolithic period - the Middle Stone Age.

Facebook Pages need your attention…

This article from Marketing Pilgrim shows you why you need to optimize your Fanpage, if you haven't yet done it.

Amplifyd from www.marketingpilgrim.com

Facebook is making a big push over the next few weeks to get all fan pages over to their new layout. You can choose to do it now or wait for it to be forced upon you in March, but don’t wait. This upgrade is huge for marketers. Here’s why.

Many businesses have Facebook Fan Pages which is great if you have lots of followers coming to you. But when you went outside of your page and left comments on others, those comments linked up to your profile not your page. Until now.

We are a mobile society, aren’t we?

This article from marketing pilgrim delves into the possible extinction of the desktop PC over the next few years. Yes we are a mobile orientated society and we want everything on the move, but there are still some things that we'd rather do at home with our desktop PCs.

I couldn't do without my Desktop PC or my mobile; both have different levels of usability in regards to THE WORKLOAD. Mobile is great for phoning, emailing, social networking and of course playing games when you’re bored. The desktop is the business end for me as i use it for maintaining my network as well as publishing. The one thing that worries a lot of people including me is the potential security risks associated with wireless connections for mobile devices, so all my online banking and purchases for example are done on my desktop PC.

The younger generation are the driving force behind the mobile expansion worldwide so i expect even the desktop PC will evolve in its own way through wireless connections and other means.

What do you think?

Amplifyd from www.marketingpilgrim.com

Deloitte Predictions says that by the  end of 2011, more than 50 percent of computing devices sold globally will NOT be PCs. Smartphones, tablets and non-PC netbooks are taking over the market at a rapid pace and it’s their growth, rather than the PC’s decline that Deloitte claims will make the difference.

Deloitte says the old PC will continue to be the workhorse that powers the dataflow for a good portion of the world, but we’re a mobile society and if we can grab our email and go, we’re going do it. We are doing it.
